SENSING THE LANDSCAPE

Part of Somerset Art Weeks Festival ‘Sensing the Landscape’ is a series of site-specific artworks across Somerset gardens curated by Karina Joseph of Field gallery. Works explore the sensory encounter with the garden environment. Eleanor will present ‘Eroding Form’ at the Aller Farmhouse garden, her largest scale piece to date, consisting of three carved, textured spheres in green oak.

Eroding Form' references the landscape and the gentle erosion of material by natural forces. This site-specific work explore the layers and fissures between creation and decay and the softening of definition through age.

Fellow ‘Sensing the Landscape’ artists include Edward Chell, Kim Francisand Fay Stevens. The project has been created by Field in partnership with Somerset Art Works and National Garden Scheme (NGS). Funded by Arts Council England and donations. Limited editions will be available to purchase after the exhibition via the Field gallery website.
